This is an excerpt from my University paper on Gagman (1989) for my Korean Cinema Course:
Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is a true love letter to film fans around the world.
Parasite on the other hand must be seen by all. It is truly impeccable.
I go into any of these films I am always so scared. There is such a fine line between incredibly cringey and amazingly witty when it comes to teen coming of age films. Booksmart falls in the latter half.
It was not a unique experience that I was hoping for, but this film probably isn't for me anyway.
Yes it is sometimes cheesy and over the top, but for some reason it just works.
I think moving forward I need to put a counter with how many times I say “What the fuck” during a Yorgos film.
Although the film is simplistic, I was surprised by some of the deeper elements it had, and it left a smile on my face by the end.
I will stop this review before I get a headache again. That will be the second time this film would have given me a headache.
Anyone who saw the film was able to predict the major plot points within the first 20 minutes.
The film revels in its simplicity and manages to show that you don't need an elaborate plot or over the top acting to have something relatable.
The Disaster Artist is a film that I recommend most people to see. Whether you know about The Room or never heard of it.
This film is something. It definitely is something I will tell you that. It is confusing, its ridiculous at times, and it makes no sense.
I believe that Baby Driver is the culmination of all that Edgar Wright has been doing so far as a creator.
