Although the film is simplistic, I was surprised by some of the deeper elements it had, and it left a smile on my face by the end.
I hope Miyazaki will follow up this film with another one that is even more mature, and filled with more passion.
Au Revoir Les Enfants has that unique perspective that I was looking for. It makes us look at this event through the eyes of neutral children.
Do yourself a favor and watch this film. You owe it to yourself to experience this masterpiece.

Anyone who saw the film was able to predict the major plot points within the first 20 minutes.

To sum up, First Man is a step back for Damien Chazelle in my opinion. But it was still an important film for his career.
Don’t Look Now is a film with great intentions. A lot of care went into the making of the picture.
Granik really gave a powerful story that did not feel preachy given the subject matter.
It executes a basic action story-line well and doesn’t falter on anything specifically.
